fixing dash scratches

I scratched the red plastic on the passenger side of the dash today with a vacuum. It didn't scratch the paint, but left marks in the clear coat or whatever is protecting it. I tried the MINI plastic cleaner on it, but that didn't get rid of them. I was thinking about trying NuFinish or a polish, but I don't know if that would just make it worse. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?
