I don't know about everybody else but I think the guy that designed the MC sun visor could have done a slightly better job. It's size really dosen't cover much frontal area when the sun is low on the horizon. When pushed to the side for glare, the coverage it still quite poor. One solution would have been to design a visor with an extention that slides out for extra coverage when needed. Another idea would have been to tint the upper windshield say about 3". Any suggestions?
Thanks, Bobdawg

I agree. The side position is especially useless. It only seems to cover 1/4 of the length of the window, and rarely casts a long enough shadow to reach my face.

An extension that slides out of the visor would be a natural solution. I'm probably going to end up keeping a baseball cap in the car and not using the visor at all.

Yeah, flipping the visor to the side window is always good for a laugh from whoever my passenger happens to be. Has anyone actually done the extension thing yet? I'm stumped on how to attach something cleanly, not being renowned as an authority on adhesives.

It is short. The Chev Suburban my daughter just bought has slide out extenders that cover the whole front windshile when both are pulled out and covers way back on the side when pulled out.

I wish they would have put a garage door opener in it.

check with the autoparts store and see if they still make the clip on ones. They used to make a clip on one that folded up and down as needed to make the visor lower.

I completety agree that the visor is much too small. An extension would be very nice for when it is pull out to cover the side window.

But, the engineers might have thought "What's going to happen when the side cutain airbag deploys." Hard to believe that you would need a degree in engineering to design a sun visor, but it's true. (I digress). If the visor were too big or had a plastic extension on it, it may end up lodged in your skull if you get in an accident.

But, then again, they might have just been stingy and didn't want to put one in because of cost.

Not sure about any of this, just some thoughts.

On the subject of sun visors, the best one's I've seen are on the Honda Element
they have extensions that cover the entire windshield, adaption may be possible.
My MCS as yours has very little in the way of effective sun blocking ability, my solution as yet unapplied is a 3-4" strip of tint film applied to the top of the door glass and windshield.

i'd rather have a grip

The side visor is useless. Since the MINI is also sold RHD, I wonder where I can get a hand grip like I have on my passenger side that would work on the left side. Are they interchangeable? Hadn't really thought about it before . . .
