Has anyone at past MOTDs or are planning to go whitewater rafting, know of good places for that? Seems there are several places that do a guided trips on Nantahala River and wondering if anyone had advice on possibly doing this while in the area? We have never been rafting, so definitely would be looking for a good guided short easy trip (3-4 hr total). Don't know if we'll have time to work it in, but may like to try to do it.
NOC is the preferred place to go on the Nanty, they are the best trained and the most safty conscious. Try a ducky if the raft looks to tame.
I paddle the river in a canoe or kayak, but those are hard to rent
I took my Teenage Girl Scouts to the NOC last summer and we kayaked down the Nantahala in duckies! It was a blast and not nearly as easy as it sounds. But we did white water rafting with the NOC at the Little Pigeon River. The NOC has a large selection of river sections and skill levels so it's best to talk to them to see what would work for you. I guarantee you you'll love it.
