Not a good week for the MOTD plans. First, the wife finds out she has a school obligation on Wednesday that she probably can't get out of. Then today, machbox wouldn't start. There's an electronic junction box of some sort that they have to replace and of course they don't have the part. My SA didn't even sound too confident they'd have it fixed tomorrow. I'm just getting a sinking feeling my MOTD trip is in jeopardy. I really don't want to drive the...gasp...99 Taurus Wagon.

Off Topic - Met two other owners from Blacklick last weekend. There was a guy with a CR Euro spec JCW that I think lives right around you. The other one is a BRG R56.
Loaners? Schultze isn't going to be released from the hospital (aka collision center/dealership service dept) in time for MOTD...please tell me more about these loaners.
Thanks!

If your car is undergoing warranty work, your dealer should provide you a free loaner. There's a daily mileage cap, though, so you'd have to discuss that with your dealer.

Schultze is in the "hospital" due to an accident on 03/15/08, so no dealer-provided loaner is available.
My "service advisor" wants to run a complete diagnostic on Schultze because the "explosive battery cable" wasn't ordered and it's apparently "mandatory". However, when pressed for info, he tells me that the purpose of this explosive battery cable is to automatically disconnect when a collision occurs that causes the airbags to deploy...he goes on to say that no power will be supplied once the cable has exploded. I point out that the car engine starts; the lights work; the sunroof works and the radio works...and the cable WASN'T replaced. So...if the cable is designed to
work as he stated, it CLEARLY didn't!
Oh...and of course the dealership doesn't have the part in stock & it will take 2 days MINIMUM to receive it from the NJ warehouse...but the part WON'T be ordered until the tech looks at Schultze tomorrow. If the order is placed by 5pm EST tomorrow, it will arrive on MONDAY and then it's still a 1/2 day MINIMUM to reinstall it!
grrrr.....

My woes were realized when things at work ramped up and I became needed this week AND I have 2 homeworks and a final exam due next week! So, I had to bail on MOTD this year... I'm saddened, as this will be the first one I've missed in 3 years... It looks like the weather will be good and so much is happening at Fontana - and I'm gonna miss it
Anyhow, for those that made it there, I hope you all have excellent motoring, stay safe and leave on Sunday with lots of great stories and memories
