Silver Dragon Emblem

I was asked by a couple people where I got my silver dragon emblem on the boot of Chester.

Here is the link: http://www.xtremeaccessories.co.uk./...cpt2218555.php

I won one at the NSW dinner and have been contemplating where to put it. Would the adhesive hurt my chrome grille? Where does it look "best" to you?

Can the adhesive be removed, then hot glue a magnet to it? Just a thought

Sure, why not? I put everything it seems on magnets - bumper stickers, flags, you name it - as I dislike permanently affixing things to my car.

I'd just use the existing adhesive, even... Of course, you'll need to cut the magnet material slightly larger than the emblem so it doesn't fall off at speed (assuming you use the flexible magnet sheeting, not actual hard magnets) and then paint it to match your body color, which IS slightly visible. I did this with my "faux Traveller" (the Cooper-badged Suburban) at the Dragon and the emblem held on for all 1000-odd miles.

A little off topic: I got one of those last year after MOTD (which I didn't attend) but said I wouldn't put it on until I had "slain" the Dragon. We got home from MOTD, gave Gromit a bath, and I went to install my Dragon....

...Now, where did I put that darn Dragon? Which box is it hiding in?

EDIT (9:45pm): Found it!

Mine is right beneath the badge that says "Cooper", on the boot door. It is VERY noticeable.

Next to the back plate is also a good spot. It won't be affected by the winds at high speeds.

PS... Can't take credit for the Sig, Craig took care of it when I mentioned there were no BRG MCSC's in any of the pre-made sigs. Thanks for the compliment.

Under the right side turn signal thingee...and with magnets. All of my "stickers" were stuck to sheet magnets (found at any craft store). peel them off to wash car, move them around, etc.

The only exception to magnets are the little black dragons I get at MOTD each year I attend. they are stuck to the glass.

Most everything goes on right side or right rear...easier to be seen by people you pass.

All good suggestions, thanks.

Any problems with magnets and paint damage?

Any time I put magnets on Chester (i.e. autocross numbers) I always use quick detailer to clean the paint & the back of the magnet. If there is any debris on the magnet or paint it will cause scratching (obviously). Sorry, didn't mean to dumb it down for you!

And I put my dragon emblem on the boot to the left of my licenses plate. Too cool!!

Wax the application spot and the back of the magnet as well - it's always a good idea to protect the area against moisture that inevitably creeps beneath the magnet. I put on two coats on each and I've never had an issue with my magnets. use quick detail spray on the spot right before application to remove grit, like Awood said.

Cool. Thanks. I had a little issue with moisture hazing and a magnet, but it seems to have faded away in sunlight, hopefully for good.
