Sticker Bandit

Has anyone got a picture of the sticker that is magically appearing on cars this year?

I didn't get one this year . It was much more difficult to leave the car in an area where it might have gotten tagged.
I'd love to see what the sticker looked like this year.

We were hoping to get "tagged" this year after hearing about it being done previously. No luck.

See what happens when the winey nit-wits make a fuss?

Sorry Mark F. That was not the BEST way to say it, but it's how it is...

I saw the sticker...I think...on 2 or 3 cars - we thought about putting a "please tag me" sign on our car.

It was a circle sticker w/ a dragon and 2007 across its wing span - details of event (5th Annual MOTD, location and dates) were in the surrounding border.

Totally jealous of those who got tagged...if that was it

Apprently the winey nit-wits got their way. Since no one seems to have gotten one this year. Maybe next year.

If you only saw it on two or three cars then that was not the work of the tagger. Sorry.

It was the only event piece that I saw that seemed to be an independent piece (no club/group affiliation)...so I totally assumed that since there was all the drama of last year's tag only a few known "safe" people got tagged.

Whatever - it's disappointing that the tradition didn't get carried on this year.

I do know that someone was selling the round stickers this year- I have one here next to me that I'm going to place right next to the one from last year (I was really proud to be tagged at MOTD 2006, still displaying it). I agree, I was hoping to be tagged once again, I'll keep my hopes up for 2008!!!

My sticker bandit stickers are still looking good, both on Casper and the classic Mini. I saw my old green Mini last month with his new owner and "Actual Size" is still looking good on him from 2004. I missed the sticker bandit this year.

Stickers

The round stickers with no group affiliation and a red dragon were being sold by a member of HRMini.com. I am not sure of his screen name but you may find them there.

Guys name is Barry. He is from Hampton Roads and sold stickers last year and had some this year. He does vinyl work. I don't know if these are the same ones. He doesn't get on the boards to much. He is usually swamped with work and all. I will try to contact him and get a picture to post for you guys to deterime if this is the sticker everyone is talking about.

Actually this might be it. A large version....

and the small one for the car

Sorry the red car is so blurry. It's the only one i had that kind of shows the sticker

Ya, last year's sticker bandit was quite disgruntled at the whiners lashing back on the forums before last years MOTD even ended. So I'm sure he decided not to invest money in hundreds more stickers for the ungrateful.

I still have my two from last year and along with my NAM sticker, they're the only ones on my car (aside from the vinyl stripes of course).

A shame that people could get so upset over a sticker on glass that is easy to remove. Way to go, ruining the "mysterious" fun for everyone else.

I know. But you can hardly blame the bandit for not wanting to spend the money or all the time it took to do all those perfect installs just to have a few poopoo that they were "vandalized" Ahhhh well MBE next year we can start a campaign to get our mystery bandit back & everyone can put "please vandalize me" decals on their MINIS. The decals could even have a little arrow pointing to the exact spot where they would like to be vandalized

I was so bummed not to get one this year, even some of my "non-MINI" friends were looking all over El Kabong when I got home to find the latest.
bamatt, sounds like a good idea, I'm up for it!

Yeah, I had non-MINI friends looking forward to it also...I'm sorry the tradition got interrupted.

Thanks Sparkes for the info on where that sticker came from - the few times I saw it I kept hoping it would show up on our MINI because I assumed it was "the one". We watched last year's mess unfold online from Cherokee, I couldn't believe that people were that upset over stickers on glass - and while I did start to see their side of things through some of the more thoughtful comments...that never changed my mind on wanting to be tagged.

Should the sticker bandit require any assistance for a stellar come back next year, I'm volunteering now.
