I must admit I am not a big "brush guy". I have resisted it for years. The old body brushes and wheel brushes were, frankly, crap. But these new Meguiars brushes are really nice and quite the bargain. I ended up getting a quite a few last week and have used them all for a few washes now.
Now I can't see me washing the whole car with the
Body Brush, but for getting the lower sills, bottom plastic and underneath area where you don't want to screw up a nice mitt this brush is awesome. The LONG bristles are "flagged" at the ends so they are super soft. I did a test on a black painted test panel and it passed!
Yea! This will be a great time saver in the winter as well.
The Wheel Face Brush is similar to the body brush in that it is very soft. Traditionally wheel brushes are stiff and meant also for tire scrubbing. I would NEVER use these on my beautiful and delicate wheels. This is different. It's soft and the bristles are long and flagged. You can easily flik them in the wheel and get at the brake dust and dirt. (This doesn't work for baked on brake dust...for that you need a sponge...but my dust is NEVER baked on. I wash weekly.
) My only beef with this brush is that it comes with this long handle. It works ok, but I like to get close and personal with the wheels and prefer a shorter handle. Luckily these handles are
interchangable and I just switch with the tire brush.
The
Tire Brush is better than some because it is oval shaped and not chuncky and square like most and fits our low profile (even 40 and 35 series) tires better. It has a short handle that is removeable and I use it also on the Wheel Face brush.
Finally, I got two of the
Detail Brushes. These are cool. Lots of little bristles in different lengths and stiffness for detailing and getting wax out of edges, etc. Cheap. Get one. I keep one in my cabinet and one in my mobile detail kit.
