Last Tuesday, March 29, I flew to Chicago to bring back a '96 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. My 2300-mile road trip began the next morning.
Obviously, I had to take cameras with me but traveling light was just as important. Therefore, I took a
small russian film camera, a Nikon Coolpix 5400, and my phone. (The phonecam made it quite easy to keep a daily
weblog of my travels.)
The resulting journey took me through seven states, often paralleling the Mother Road. I stopped at some usual tourist destinations such as St. Louis's Gateway Arch and the Grand Canyon.
One often-overlooked destination I had prioritized was
Albuquerque's Old Town. (It just so happened that's where I finally saw a MINI- an IB/W Cooper with white bonnet stripes.) This was my second visit to this historic district so my photo eye gravitated toward images I hadn't explored originally. Below are four snapshots/photographs (you decide) from the few hours spent there.
