Good luck with it, Canon has had a terrible rep as of the last 4 years with its cheaper consumer models. I have an Elura 40MC which is practically useless because of a "Tape eject" problem. If you search on the net about 60% of Elura users get the same problem after the first 12 months. I knew the problem was REALLY bad when i saw about three other tourist with the same problem while i was on vacation last year in Vegas.....
I would almost go as far as saying you should return it and get a Sony......
And i'm a canon lover, I own a canon digicam, Rebel, and plan on getting a Digi-Rebel.
