I sat at a light once watching a big truck carrying one of those big huge concrete bridge beams. It came around making a left in front of me.......the trailer clipped the curb......slo-motion kicked in..........KA-BANG!!!!! The earth literally shook....blocked both lands of traffic all day.
The Historical Preservationists from here would have had a cow about it being demolished to open the road!

It might not be all that old. I do see an air conditioner sticking out of a window. . .

Isn't this supposed to be the weekend of "Targeted Enforcement" too? I wonder if they got a ticket for crossing the double yellow...and where did they expect for people going the other way to go when the cabin was going down the road? Just back up until there's a pull off I guess

Oh, I read it as THIS saturday, as in yesterday. I guess I'm happy we took our drive on the Cherohala on Friday...even though it was so foggy we couldn't see anything
The people moving that house should have known to make some improvements before the journey.
I see the a/c unit in the window, so they at least started with the CAI.
An M7 porch post brace would have firmed up the front end and improved stacking in turns (though some feel it might be just window dressing).
A rear sway bar would have kept the back porch from swinging in the tighter twisties.
I cant tell if the sewer lines have been upgraded by the picture, but this would have given a nice exhaust note a a bit of a power boost, but what good is it to be flush with power and not be able to put it to the ground?
Upgraded lighting would have been nice if the move were to be done at night. There is less traffic to contend with, but you need to be able to see well in the dark.
I dont have to remind people the benefits of upgraded seating.
Forget the plasma booster. No measurable difference.
I cant tell if the house had skylights by the picture. That added weight high up like that can make a difference when on the edge.
I just hope the phantom stickerer had a chance at one of the windows.

Gives new meaning to " ...George watch out for that tree."

As Napoleon was deceiving the neighboring farmers he was also tricking his own animals. The scapegoat was again Snowball. "Whenever anything went wrong it became usual to attribute it to Snowball." In fact many of the claims begin to sound ridiculous to the objective mind. Of course, Squealer's mission is to keep everything subjective in the minds of the animals.
It turned our 1-2 hours fun loop drive into a 4+ hour adventure in impossible-to-find detours.
It did the same thing to us. Did they send you up that wonderful 7 mile long gravel road? This road was so good that the parks people had just been up it to cut the trees that had fallen across it. As it was we got back just in time to see everyone leaving from the farewell dinner. I must give the staff at the Fontanna credit, they seated us in the bar and served us even though the dinner was over.

They told us to take "the first right". No details. Being city people, we took the first right that was paved and ended up on an 18 mile dead end and back. It was very pretty but most of the 36 miles total were about 30MPH because the road was small, narrow, unlined and had a good many people in cars or on foot that we had to slow down even more for.

I too was a member of the 'turn around and go back the way you came' crowd. Seeing several others slow and peer down side roads I decided going the whole thing was the best bet....
Yeah that messed up our Saturday drive. We had a decent detour but missed a good part of the skyway. The detour roads where very tight! We had to stop and help some old ladies change tires in their car on the detour route. That was a good feeling moment of the day
