Dragon bites my MINI CAR!!!

Yes! I am the famous one that you all know. I got dragon bit on the way and trying to escape so rollover down the mountain. Speed Channel got footage for their news.

No No... not really.

I was actually motoring with three other MINIs from Indy and met Pittsburgh guys at the Deals Gap. (I think that's what it called.. a pit stop between 129 and 28) Pittsburgh MINI got lost to the Fontana Village. I have no idea neither. We decided to follow two other MINIs. Unfortunately, they took off really fast and did not wait on us. I got lost control in the first turn of the 28 where the dumpster is. The road was gravel because the dumpster truck brought up rocks from the side. My tyres got on gravel and lost control. I wasn't sure about the speed certainly it was not too slow. The car couldn't trun at all; it went straight and roll over once down the mountain. Finally the car stop by a tree. The tow guy siad I was down in 80 feet deep from 28. I was really lucky with no serious injury. THANK GOD PITTSBURGH MINI SAW ME! Drew from Pittsburgh immediately came down and rescued me. THANK YOU DREW!!! He helped me got everything out of car and took some nice pictures. (I haven't got the picture from him yet. I'll post them once I received). Richard from Indianapolis Dreyer & Reinbold MINI took me to the hospital for checking and gave me a ride home. "THANK YOU Richard!" There were some othere MINI folks stoped and helped. I didn't get the name from them but, I want to say "THANK YOU!"

Here is some pictures I took from the garage.

Before the accident.

Glad you are ok. My husband recently hit a tree, not as dramatic as your episode but it still amazes me how well these cars handle vs a tree

Correct! None of the airbags went off. Somebody told me when the car rollover the airbag would not come out. Maybe just the speed wasn't enough?

Wow! Glad you're OK. I heard someone rolled their car over the "edge" but hadn't heard any details. I'm a little confused - were you on 28 or 129 (the dragon)?

Another guy hit a bear. Is that all the casualties for the weekend? I hope...

That's crazy...so glad you're alright! As sad as these episodes are I do appreciate your sharing. Over time we're getting a very good picture of how our cars respond in these kinds of situations. Impressive!

Glad to see you are okay. Bummer about the Mini, but at least it did it's job of saving you.

Is it possible the airbags did not deploy because the car detected the rollover? I know there are kill switches for the fuel on some (maybe all?) cars...looking at the damage I wonder if the air bags went off if you would have been injured? Anyone know about the airbags?

MINI_Car you're very very lucky. So very sorry about your MINI - it was a very nice looking car. I do hope you stay with us and order another one. :-) And yeah.. those wheels are gorgeous. If you want to swap them out for some S-heavy's and some cash I'm game - PM me when you get a moment.

Krut, yes, I was very lucky. Thank you God!
Way Motor Works is already asking for buying the car back from insurance company and he got my authorized. I don't know the detail with insurance yet. I'll let you know if the wheels are available.
