GEN 1 NCS INPA users UNITE!

Well the search function has changed, or it has on my web browser. Can no longer search by individual forums. Sick of reading Gen2 stuff. I already have everything installed. I'd like to talk with other people that drive the same car I do and compare apples to apples for the most part. So who here is using INPA and NCS Expert and Dummy as well as the other BMW tools on their Gen1?

I have everything I need, just haven't had a chance to test it yet.
I got some a few things programmed from a local guy I met on here.

Plenty of threads on how to get started. I have not noticed an organized Gen1 thread that is active yet. That's what I would like to see. There are a lot of BMW tools that can be used.

As you can see, there are not many coders here for R50/R53.

You generally get two sorts of posts, those who can't be bothered to Google a DIY thread and want to be told what to do; and those with technical questions on errors that no one has encountered before.

For the latter, I go here to post threads that don't get answered.

I have them installed and have done a few small things. The latest being I had to erase the srs light from my cluster using inpa. I would like to do more with ncs expert. At them moment I cant really decide what I feel is worth spending the time to recode as I am generally pretty pleased with the r53.

I'm coding my 2002 R53. I'm using a usb-obd2 cable and an VM with XPsp2 on my MacBook Pro.

Using Inpa, NCS Expert and, really great, NCS Expert Dummy.

I've enabled a lot of features, like window-auto-up on both sides, comfort open and close with my remote and key, auto-lock at 10mph, auto-unlock when killing engine, Pathway lighting for 60sec ( is to long imo), digital speedo on my BC, and then some. I change my usage indicator from L/100km to km/L ( can also be mpg off course)
also, is a nice feature I think, disable airco at full throttle for these extra HP's when accelerating.
I'm working out now to enable the lights when the wipers are engaged. I believe this can be done with the dipped beam or with the fog lights. don't know what to do yet. as an alternative maybe I'll enable daylight driving lights again, this is also possible.
Furthermore, it is possible to enable/disable the seatbelt warnings. Also,I have enabled the sound alarm for low gas.

what's also nice, for the tuners among us, you can change the redzone on the rev counter to begin earlier or later. there are segments which you can enable so they show up lighted.

Also, I can enable the factory alarm and all its options. Then you only have to built in the wiper-stalk with the red light at the steering column, the siren and the ultrasonic sensors. I already have an after-fit alarm so won't use this option myself, but it's possible.

Anyway, I'm still investigating a lot of options.

For instance, who can tell me what

WINDOW_INCH_AUTO
WINDOW_SHORT_DRIVER and PASS
WINDOWS_SHORT_RAISE_DELAY
and
MISLOCK_BEEP_ENABLE

can do for me?

These are functions of the BC1 Body and Lights.

Anyways, I'm happily coding my R53 1st gen and would like to "unite"

Greetings from the not so cold Netherlands!

Awesome! and btw you have already delved further into this then I have. I bought my cable and software from ebay and the support is on its own private website for buyers. The software was 100% auto install and I didn't have to do much other then click a few icons and the software did it for me.

I've got this cable. http://www.ebay.nl/itm/181315330804?...84.m1439.l2649

I've installed Win XP SP2 in a VM and am using the drivers wicht came with the cable. then i've downloaded the bmw-suite and updated everything and then installed NCS Expert. last;y, i've downloaded NCS Expert (for) Dummies. this combination works flawless!

Finally I find the thread and a answer that suits me! I want to program a few things in my R53, but I'm not so skilful to deep programming the options. Can you please tell me what cable and program did you bought on EBay? I'll buy it right away! Thanks in advance, cheers from Chile

The person I bought my things from is on "US.ebay" and goes under the name bmwfanatiq. I am sure he is on other ebay servers under the same name. His website is http://bmwmotion.com . I think you need to have already purchased his items before you are able to access the site but there it is just incase.
