How to: Remove the rear seats

This is a basic how-to with lots of photos. I thought it was tricky to figure it out, so I think this might be useful for others who never removed them before.

I don't plan to remove my seats, but I greatly appreciate your site. Have you written any manuals? You are great at giving instructions!

Excellent. Wish I had this info when I removed mine.
Like all things apparently difficult, easy when you know how!

You could ask your dealer or MINI USA. Anything we tell you wouldn't be worth the electrons it is displayed with.

It doesn't I have mine out and it has been in for service with the back seat out. Nothing was said and it is going back in to have to hood scoop replaced next week under warranty. So 'm going to go with no on the voiding of warranty.

What has everybody put in the back of their minis? Have you covered the nasty bare metal with anything?

Mine just shows the bare betal, but I clipped in both rear seat belts to avoid to possibility of them flapping when the windows are down.

Just made a rear seat delete to cover the bare metal. Used miniacal.com and it was super easy and cheap. I would recommend it. It also creates a spot to hide valuables underneath the delete.

What would possibly be more practical would be a single rear seat that's set at an angle to give some real leg room...these seats as they are are only good for toddlers or people with no legs. Thanks for the link though, very helpful!
