Road construction delays

We will be taking the route west out of Pueblo then Rte 9 up through Breckenridge. Checked the Colorado DOT and they noted construction between Breckenridge and Frisco. Anyone familiar with any delays on that stretch of road? Thanks.

yep. drove it a few weeks ago.

not very fun. i'd avoid rt 9 if possible.

last time i was there it was one lane of traffic. it could've gotten better but i don't see how unless they finished construction

Will going on West to Salida get us around this construction? This is our planned route but were going to go up Hwy 9 if time became an issue. I think we will stay with Plan "A"

I don't think they're done. We drove that road on Sunday, and the road surface was uneven. No one was there working though (it being Sunday) and the road was open, no delays.

Going to Salida should get you around that construction as long as you avoid 9.

There was construction today

on I-70 in various spots.

Notably, the run up to the tunnel, from the west headed east, is being repaved. They are about 2/3 done. We have to do this route both Friday and Saturday nights on the way to Mt. Evans. I will ask the MINIs to add lots of spacing between the cars since we will all be throwing up lots of loose gravel.
