The 4 MINIs from San Diego are bringing a Twister mat, a gallon of baby oil, and our nekkidness. We want our claim to fame to be that we played Nekkid Twister on the top of Mt Evans at Midnight.
I'm putting in a request in advance for a ride up to MT Evans. I don't drive well at night. NO, I'm not afraid of the dark! Let me know if anyone wants a fun & pleasant co-pilot!
If you dont mind riding in Just'A Cooper I can take ya

you're welcome in my 'vert...but we'll be going top down, heater blasting, seat heaters on, and an electric blanket wrapped around us. My body will be toasty, but my head will freeze...because I don't plan on missing one minute of that beautiful stary night up Mt Evans.

Weelllll...if you would call a person, maybe you can ride with us. I've been by the dealership ohhh...100x's since I've been in Denver for 2 weeks and you ain't EVER there! No phone calls, no love. I see how it is.
ShellBell you want have any trouble getting a ride. She stayed with us last year and classy lady. If my son can't come with me your welcome to ride with me. Luke
Just out of curiosity, since this will be my first MITM trip.
Once we reach the top, how long do we typically stay there?
The reason I ask is that I am thinking of bringing along my telescope and was wondering if there would be enough time to set it up and do a little "closer" stargazing?
Last year, we did not stay long. We were planning on viewing the Perseids (Meteor Shower) but it was cloudy, foggy, windy, and cold. So we spent 30 mins or so taking pics, etc.
In the event it is clear, you will want to stay longer, assuming you are dressed properly. This may sound crazy, but that is the time to wear your jeans, a couple of layers (jackets, sweatshirts) hat and gloves, etc. It is still chilly at that altitude no matter what. And the Perseids are peaking this year too, at that time. Gotta get pictures of that.
Call it an hour max. Keep in mind that we leave Copper by 10 pm, takes almost 2 hrs to get up, then an hour there....you get home at 3 am tomorrow. And you still have to have energy to motor again the next day!
I have just finalized details with my t-shirt sweat shop (just kidding) and by tonite I will post ordering details. There will be about a 21 day window for ordering leaving a 10 day window for delivery prior to MITM. I can tell you this: There will be:
Midnight on Mt Evans t-shirts
Western Dragon t-shirts
Western Brewswap t-shirts
Event logo t-shirts
All embroidered, with real colored thread, but not screened. We only do the good stuff. Prices? Lower than you think. All will be embroidered on the left breast. Limited sizes (due to large size of the graphic and embroidery).
Details? Watch this thread tonite. You will want to order early.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I do this MINI thing for fun
So far, it has been fun
If you ask for too much, it will no longer be fun
If I spend too much time on it, it will no longer be fun
If I take a financial bath, it will no longer be fun
When it ceases to be fun, I cease to do it.
I want to continue to have fun
You all have some good ideas. Many of them sound like work. They call it 'work' for a reason. Work not the same as fun. Check the synonym dictionary.
As of now, there will be t-shirts. And once I have final prices, there will be a VERY small window, since I will need 30 days for production (about July 4 to August 4) which means that, once I take orders, it will be time to send in a check if you want an order. Again, I am not in the postal service business so I really never had plans to mail anything. I am not saying I won't, I am just not inviting that.
Please understand, we all want to have fun.....and as soon as one of the playmates ceases to have fun, he goes home and the party ends. So let's keep having fun.
