I'm glad we have a second spare car for me to use in the meantime! I had a bit of excitement this past weekend:

I've been driving our 15-year-old Saturn around, and except for some oil issues (and a wonky gas gauge... and a busted odometer... ), it's run pretty well for a 15-year-old car.

Well, Saturday I was driving up to campus to get some studying done in the library (grad school, yay), heading east on route 32 to get on to 95 north. Got on the exit ramp, braked, downshifted from 5th to 4th, and started to merge on 95. When I upshifted back to 5th, I don't know WHAT happened but the car acted like I just downshifted! And instead of having its usual spots to shift into for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., the gearshift now just wobbles around freely so I have no idea WHAT gear it's in! I managed to coax it 35 miles back home through a series of adventures (starting from a dead-stop in 4th gear, navigating college football traffic, trying to get it up our steep driveway, etc.), but it's home and now I'm driving a not-quite-so-old Nissan Maxima with a bad suspension - the shocks are so wonky, if I hit a bump while going around a turn it begins to fishtail a little. So I definitely can't wait for my MINI to arrive now! Too bad the UNDINE's arrival has been pushed back from the 25th to the 27th now.
