Just do the parking lot test and you will know one way or the other. My method is to set the parking brake, make sure nothing is in front of you. Put tranny in 4th or 5th, rev to about 2500, and dump the clutch. It will either kill the engine (meaning good strong clutch) or it will continue to run (meaning the clutch is gone). Don't let the engine spin the clutch if that happens for more than one or two seconds.
If it is slipping and you choose not to replace the clutch, depending upon how bad it is, just drive very gently until you can afford to replace it. It will get gradually worse and worse until you know it must be done.
