Fans seized up.

Took my R50 to be serviced yesterday. Found out that my PS fan has seized up. They said it looks as if though it's been out for a while now so good thing we caught it. I have the part on order.

Also, found out the radiator fan (speed1) is not working. He said they tested it by stimulating the relay so they know it's not a bad relay or sending unit. Says I have to order a new fan.

However, my car stays cool. the temp guage stays right in the middle where it is supposed to be, even when idling.

They're telling me that fan 2 is like the "oh **** fan". It only comes on when the car is hot and you're sitting in traffic in 100 degree tempts and it prevents overheating. Fan 2 is essentially the back up and fan 1 is the primary.

Are they right? I am going to go ahead and replace the fan just to be safe. I want to know everything is working as it is supposed to. Also, incase fan 2 goes out, atleast I'll still have fan1 working to help keep cool. Not too concerned since winter is comming on.

Any advice/ideas or wisdom about what's going on or the knowledge on the auxillary/radiator fans?
