I'm sorry this has happened to your car. I ran over some road debris and scratched mine. (It may have been my thread you read.) I've been living with it for a year now. 
The good thing is that the scratches get less pronounced over time because you just stop seeing them. 
In my dreams there is a texturized, pebble finish mold that can be pushed into the plastic panel after you have heated it up and Voila, the finish is back to normal.
