Which side of car is right/left?
This is a stupid question - but which side of the car is which? Duh.
Is the drivers side considered right (looking at the car), or left (from inside the car?)
thanks. This will save me a lot of money and embarrasment ordering replacement parts.

I'm no expert (I always use 'driver' and 'passenger' side), but I'd say the driver's side is the left side - in the US, anyway.

For the U.S.-spec cars, "driver's side" is the same as "left", and "passenger side" is the same as "right".
To avoid confusion, most parts site just use "left" and "right", and it's referenced from your position while sitting inside the car.
And it's not a stupid question - I've always wondered the same thing about beds.

If you say driver side, now you have to specify if you're talking metric driver's side or SAE driver's side. Call 'em as you see 'em from the driver's seat.

Driver's side is left in US cars........
In England, they call them curbside and offside, it's confusing to me!

MINI/BMW parts catalogs state Left and Right corresponding to the Driver and Passenger side in the US market.

Left hand drive and right hand drive. Sounds like it refers to what hand controls the wheel when you shift.
