paint chipped to bare metal!!

I use chipped loosely because the 'chips' are only on the roof. I'm pretty sure it was burned on the fourth of July by some rouge fireworks by those crazy kids at a 4th of july party (I was at )shooting those large motor shells and having at least two of them kicked over with my mini parked nearby.
Anyways, I was wondering if I should act on them immediately to prevent rust?
the chips are on the roof, there are about 5-6 of them and they are very small like rock chips, and the roof is black.
Since the roof is black what is my best course of action to preserve the high shine value without having dabs of blackish goo speckling the roof
edit: I have attached an image taken rather close up of one of the chips, in reality it is no larger than 1/8th of an inch
