How to get wax off the black plastic trim

I bought my MINI used, and the previous owner didn't wax very carefully.
The black plastic trim has some parts that look like they spilled wax on it.
After I wash the car I apply Mothers Back to Black on it and it looks very nice for a week or so... As much as I would love to wash my car every week, I just can't. What have you guys found that removes wax from the trim? Or blackens it for a long time.
