Tools Needed:
1 bottle of Instant Sneaker Cleaner From Foot Locker
(Note: you have to go to a foot locker to purchase, its a can with a yellow top)
1 microfiber towel (wipe off access that sprays everywhere)
1 application towel (i used terry towel but any will do)
1 roll of painters tape
So i was at the mall with my buddy looking for some shoe cleaner for his shoes the other day. The lady at foot locker happened to show us that this one shoe cleaner takes the black right off the checkered stickers on the shirts if you spray and rub, and makes them pure white. Ask one of the employees to test it out for ya, its pretty weird..
When i saw this i started to think about how this might work with my boot and bonnet stripes hmmm..
So my buddy bought it, cleaned his shoes, then i took it out for the test. Now my stripes aren't that dirty but you all know how they can get.
I was a little nervous about taking the black off the outer sides of the stripes so i taped it all of and went for it:::
First I tried a little bit in the middle to see what would happen..
WOW extremely surprised right off the bat of how well this worked, so now im excited to get goin on the whole car
I then taped off right on top of the black outer lines because the stuff is apparently really powerful on colors, I didn't test it on my car but from what i saw at footlocker i didn't really want to find out the hard way. Make sure you get the tape on there pretty well so nothing leaks under it..
(you can see the difference on the right stripe of where i tested it out)
Repeat as neccesary, continue to the back
(you will notice a much bigger difference in the back due to the exhaust and dirt that bakes into the stripes)
The one on the right is done and the left is not, it was pretty hard to take nice pic of the difference but its way noticeable in real life haha
Then you have a nice looking brand new set of stripes and a lovely day!
It was a fantastic find i didn't even mean to make! All in all i definitely recommend following this process if your really into havin your car look as nice as it can, or if your just fed up with all the grime on your stripes!
