I took delivery of a new Silver 2006 S Conv a two weeks ago. My first Mini.
Last week took a trip from Keystone, CO to St. George, UT for a golf outing. Great highway car. Cruised along at 80, listening to a portable MP3 player plugged into the Aux input in the glove compartment, since there are not a lot of radio stations between here and there. Avg 29 miles per gal at an avg speed of 77+.
A couple of questions:
1. Memory Key. Have looked at a couple of threads on this. Can the key be programmed by the owner, or does it have to be done by the service people?
2. Looking for a bike rack that will fit on the rear of the Mini
3. Also have the rattle in the right side that when hitting bumps in the road that some other people have mentioned. Is that fixable by the dealer?
Welcome and congrats on your MINI.
1. Memory key only applies to the R56 (2007 hardtops).
2. Bike rack - Mini-Fini makes a very nice one that attaches to the frame under the car and this accepts various attachments. (www.minifini.com) This was also available through the dealer and could be dealer installed when I purchased my '06.
3. No idea, I have hardtops!
