Another NOOB here...

I just bought an '03 Cooper S, silver with black stripes, roof, mirrors and interior, 6 speed, loaded with everything including sunroof, nav, HK sounds system, heated seats, etc, it should be delivered to me in about 2-3 weeks. I wanted to say hello and meet some members here. I had been using my Toyota Land Cruiser as a daily driver and my Ferrari 360 for fun on weekends. I wanted a sporty car I could drive a little more often than the Ferrari and one that wouldn't attract a crowd where ever I went. My father had a 1966 Mini Cooper S that he bought new and I always loved that car. Now is my turn to own one.

With a build date of 11-02, I assume mine has the CD based nav system and I wonder if there is a way to update the software. I saw the thread(s) on downloading and upgrading the DVD based systems but I wasn't sure if it can be done with the CD based ones or if it's even worthwhile.

Any other hints, tips or advice from fellow enthusiasts would be appreciated. The car will likely be my daily driver with occasional weekend trips to the track. Thanks in advance and hello to everyone here.

Thanks for the info and the welcome. I'm looking forward to actually driving the car soon. It can be seen here:

My brother owns the dealership and made me a deal I couldn't refuse.
