MY 2006 - Production Week 45 Support group
Calander year 2005, Model Year 2006
I will start this off. I got a call from Richard at D&R and he gave me my production number. I called ASK MINI and found out that MIB is scheduled to be built in the first week of November.
Anyone else in this build week? Tell us about your MINI? Given it a name yet? What dealer did you buy from?
All I can hear is that Carly Simon song from the Heinz ketuchup commercial...
Anticipation its making me wait...

Good luck with your adventure DrDiff. You're in for a ride that has been a little more emotional than I thought it could be. Check out Production Week 36 thread for great information and links that will assist everyone in your production week. Page three, ten & twelve have some great links.

Tracking info
Yes our cars aren't even built yet, OK maybe some sub assemblies but here is some tracking links that should be helpful!
http://www.kline.com/
http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml Tracks ships accross the pond.
To check shipping status, go to:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp
then pull down the Customer Centre menu and select Cargo Tracking.
On the Cargo Tracking page, click on Track by Auto Cargo.
Plug your VIN into the Cargo ID field and click the Track button. The website will display where your Mini currently is. (mine was just received at the terminal in Southampton 47 minutes ago). Take note of the Vessel and Voyage info.
Go back to the Customer Centre menu and select Schedules.
Select Search by Voyage under Schedule Options and plug in your Voyage info.
There's your shipping schedule!
tracking NYK ships:
NYK does not have a tracking system, so information has to be gleaned in a roundabout way. The NYK website estimates an arrival at Port Hueneme on 10/9 (24 days).
(1) I got the ship name and line from my MA, then looked it up on the NYK website:
www2.nykline.com
Click on the PCC/RORO link, then PCC/RORO Fleet List for some more info. about the ship
I found out the service route, including ports of call, from the PCC/RORO Service Network link. By the way, “RORO” means roll on/roll off in shipping jargon.
The route from Southampton to Port Hueneme in California on NYK Line is: Southampton, Port Newark, Baltimore, Charleston, Brunswick, Jacksonville, Panama Canal, San Diego, Los Angeles, Port Hueneme.
There are two ways that I can think of to track the ship. One is through vessel schedules on port websites. Some sites provide this and some don’t. I’ll list the helpful ones below. The other way is through vessel location websites. The Coast Guard has one at http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html, but I can’t seem to get it to work today. Lloyd’s of London has a service at www.ships-register.com that has a free trial. I’ve requested access, but don’t know if they’ll grant it.
I don’t know if it helps, but you can use the U.S. Coast Guard vessel search page to find the ship’s call sign:
http://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIX2/VesselSearch.asp
(2) To track via ports I’ve found the following information:
SOUTHAMPTON: Information about times that ships arrive & leave port:
http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/viewart...rticleid=718729
PORT NEWARK: Haven’t found a thing useful by the port. There is an email address and phone number on the page related to automobile shipping services, but I don’t think that it’s very nice to pester them about my single car. AIS has a service that provides hourly snapshots of harbors. I believe you have to register for the free section. Try http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.a...20York%20Harbor

AIS Panama Canal Gatun Locks

If I’m diligent (read “obsessed”), I might be able to figure out when the ship is going through the locks and see it on the web cam at the Panama Canal (!):

PORT OF SAN DIEGO

I called ASKMINI today and was told Production Week 45. I received my production number one week ago after a four week wait.
The Owner's Lounge shows my MINI as on order. It also shows the correct color however no options are listed. I verified with ASKMINI that my specs are in its system.
I'm hoping for a Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm there brother
Well let me lend my support. I'm week 45 because of my JCW option on a MCS. I believe that for 210bhp its worth the wait. Besides its not like I don't have a car to drive.
Specs: Hyper bue, Checkmate, JCW factory. Only options Chrome exterior, interior, armrest, JCW strut bar and ipod adaptor. I know the strut bar is just bling. Its a guilty pleasure.
Ordered from San Francisco Mini.

Dean, this will be my first MINI.
The Owner's Lounge still lists the correct body color and no factory options and that my car is on order.
The automated ASKMINI states that my car is scheduled for production with no confirmed date.
The ASKMINI rep said the my car is scheduled for Production Week 45.
Maybe with the delay of MCS's with the JCW package we MC's will get an earlier production week.

CONFIRMED for Week 45
FYI - just called ASK MINI... They said that my '06 HB/B JCW Cooper S is "CONFIRMED for Production Week 45".
That is the Owner's Lounge equivalent of 'Scheduled for Production', meaning that there should be no further forseeable date extensions. The OL site still shows 'On Order' and probably will for another 48 hours.
The rep checked a few other JCW cars for comparison and verified that ALL of them indicated Week 45. So from this, it is reasonable to assume that :
!!Week 45 will be THE FIRST OFFICIAL WEEK of FACTORY JCW PRODUCTION!! (at least for US-bound cars)
...and we are PART of that first batch!
Now I have to wonder, Is that a good thing or bad thing??? :impatient

Same here Dr.
Model Description: Cooper
Exterior Description: Chili Red
Interior Description: Space Gray Cloth
Nothing showing in Factory options
A live person at Ask Mini said Week 44 was requested, but it might be plus or minus a week. I was told week 45 last week by a different person. Kind of makes me wonder if week 45 might be all JCWs.

Did they say you had a 'Confirmed' production date - verified as scheduled for production? Unless they tell you that specifically, I think that the date can still wobble around some.
Also, I find it kinda odd that there is no "Production Week 44 Support Group" thread started yet....

you know I didn't ask
Coopernicus
I just called Ask MINI did not know to ask that. I will call again tomorrow after going to dentist and cleaning my garage. Not the end of the world anyway if they make it in week 44 it will probably sit at a port and ride with the week 45's or 46's. So I guess it won't really matter. But I'll check anyway.

The way I see it, it will be a Christmas gift or a very happy New Year celebration.
