Hello from Chattanooga, TN

I recently purchased a 02 Mini Cooper, Black w/ Checkered top. Love the car, drive it every day. I'm having to learn to work on it myself because lack of service facilities for the Mini. One problem I have with the flat tire monitor is it will not reset. Will a computer reset do it and if so does anyone know how to reset the computer on a 2002 model?

My first question (sorry, have to ask) - are you following the procedure in the manual? I've reset mine in my '04 a few times, haven't had any problem with it. I'd assume that the '02 and '04 are similar, you just need to make sure that you hold the button in long enough to reset the computer. Oh, and make sure your tire pressures are good, too!

Hope you get it straightened out. . .

Tried it all. I believe?

I have tried resetting it several times. I also have checked all the tires, to be sure that they’re within 1 psi of each other. Funny thing though when I turn the key to position 1 the light is already on. According to the manual the light should be off and then I'm to hold the reset until it blinks.

This works on my '03:
Turn key off. Hold the flat tire reset button in & start the car. Verify that the indicator is still on after car has started. Release button & drive away. Indicator should go out shortly after you drive off.
Best - Bodinski
