"Warning: Airbags can kill" stickers

Is it illegal to remove the sticker - especially if it's installed directly on the "body color" dash? I noticed the sticker like a sore thumb on the passenger side dash of one of the NAM members' beautifully painted Chili Red dash. Airbags are great but man those warning stickers are unsightly!

It is illegal for dealers to remove the stickers but not consumers. Kind of like the matress labels!

stick this !!!

Last saturday, it was 80+ degrees, slightly humid outside so I was able to peel the sticker off the dash with my fingernails...verrrrrrrrrrrrrry slowly !!! I removed a tiny bit of residue glue with some rubbing alcohol, no problem. Now for those visor ones...any ideas anyone ???

I'm sooo happy! I will rid those things quickly from the dash. Are the visor stickers behind the visor when it's up? I hope so.

But why on this thread?

lol, no, I actually had FOUR VWs starting with a Dasher followed by a Rabbit, then Jetta D and a Jetta... They were good to me overall.

MINI mania has struck; soon I'll be removing the letters G and M as I was a former Saturn owner too ('95 SC-2 which was a lot of fun).

j/k of course...

And why are you using my quote? Do you know me and remember that I am a recovering VW guy?

My lemon '99 Jetta VR6 is the reason I'm in a MINI...looked at R32s and almost bought a leftover 04 GTI...but thank God, I test drove an 05 MCS and the rest is history...let's keep this thread about the stickers...plenty of forums to trash the VW, VW dealers, and Volkswagon of America !!!

I believe people are using GooGone to get the stickers off the visors. I haven't done it yet, but I plan to soon so I don't have a faded rectangle on my visors.

Scary sticker on that glovebox. I did not read it when I got into the car and then looked at it while driving home (finally began to look at all the gadgets in the MINI) and thought (okay, only for 3 seconds) it was in protest against killing children in Ohio (where the car just came from) which didn't make that much sense (I was halfway between MINI-intimidation and MIN-euphoria). I tried to peel it off as I was driving, but it's resistant (especially during rush hour traffic). I don't have Zaino (yet), but I do have GooGone. So this will be one of my weekend tasks (along with learning how to turn on the radio).

I managed to get my visor stickers off with denatured alcohol. Took some time, but eventually they turn to mush and come off....

rubbing alcohol will work on the visors, takes alot of patience though. 20mins of working on the passenger side and I only got a small corner off
