I'm ready for a fun car next time and the MCS is it for me. Brit, now living in Austin TX, old enough to have seen Cooper S's kicking butt in their class at Brands Hatch in the late 60s. Plus we always had pit passes, can still smell the Castrol R. BRG/W for me, naturally!
Basically I'm researching before placing an order (and working on my missus), this site is a mine of information, thanks y'all.
HHIIIII!!!! Fellow NAMer's im Vic and here is my 2008 MC i still HAVE many plans ahead for it .You may say I am still new to the form.but here is my cooper..
Hi all,
I'm new to the MINI world. Last week I purchased a MINI S Convertible. I'm still getting familiar with its many quirks. It is really fun to drive. I hope I can learn many new and interesting things from all the members on this board.
I am browsing around at the Mini Cooper and checking out it's potential. My wife and I own an Toyota MR2 Spyder and a Subaru Outback Wagon. I am always on the lookout for that "third" vehicle.
Just a quick hello from the Valley of the Sun, aka Phoenix AZ.
I am looking forward to soaking up as much info as I can and also helping out with any technical data that I may possess
Motor till it don't motor any more... than get out and start pushing
I recently took ownership of my son's 2002 Pepper white Mini. All I can say is I haven't had this much fun driving since I had a new 74 Fiat X-19 (my age is showing here..). I have had a few minor problems but solutions were found on this forum. I didn't even have to ask questions, just read the posts!

I had a 1976 X1/9 and loved it. If they were not so hard to find here in Canada, due to salt etc...I would have one now...much fun...first sports car I owned and a targa roof to boot!!! I always loved european sports/sporty cars...nice to know there are a few "OLDER" (but not too old) drivers who appreciate the mini too.
Hi, just wanted to drop a line here to sat Hello!!
Just purchased a 2002 MCS Red/BLK with Panoramic roof, 6spd, in really good shape. I am now 2nd owner and it only has 73,000 km's. I do want to find out all it has and saw another thread regards to Vin code...will drop a line there to Carter? and see if can get the skinny on all hidden things it has.
This site has LOTS of info..will be spending countless hours on this site doing research...lots of reading....but what else to do when we in Ontario get dumped on with LOTs of white stuff
Hope to get some pics soon and setup my profile more....
yeah my mini is still stock but the ideas are flowing.....i hope i don't get into trouble with the law........or the wife

Wow I have to say this place is awesome! I have laerned a lot about my car from just reading past posts on the forum.
Here is a pic of my car. I have already decked is out with cool graphic from Aesthetic Creations. I need to get a better picture of the roof but It has Harley-quinn and the Joker on it.
I just recently joined because I've owned a mini for a little less than a year and feel that, even though I'm a girl, I should at least know what I'm driving. I've found a lot of answers on this website and figured I should join ;)
Hello NAM members...just joined yesterday and got approved today...WOOHOO! I just picked up an 07 R56 S (Chili Red/White top w/ Sport, Premium, Convenience, LSD + Hypersport suspension, etc) to be used as my daily driver while I REALLY project up my S14 (96 Nissan 240sx for anyone not aware of what an S14 is...and FYI, I've been driving and modding one of these-the green one below-before everyone was driving their lil Hondas/Acuras). I must admit I'm ready to sell my S14 and project up the R56 instead...hahaha. But I'm going to have to RESIST REALLY hard and put more attention to my S14 instead. This, of course, will be done while I scheme up what I'll be doing to the mini.......(springs-for now, DDM intake, HKS SSV BOV, and a cat back exhaust-not sure which one yet). I've only had this car for 2 days btw .
My red S14 (the green S14 used to also be mine...but now is my lil bro's project):
I've found TONS of great information here, along with some very friendly and patient people. Some of the threads get pretty long, and if you don't read through questions can get asked several times, but usually folks are very nice about it all. I've gotten a late start on NAM (had my MINI since Feb 07) but i'm making up for lost time. Thanks for all the GREAT information!
I have talked to a few who have rear fogs. They said never use them!!! infact have had people rave at them if use them for anything other then backing up!!!! Some have NEVER used them??? Can't imagine a big need? IMHO.
And something else I would ask (just think of it don't have to respond). If your financing it, I would keep the options you can purchase afterwards to a minimum on the car (like chrome mirror caps) etc etc.. Items like the PANO roof, power windows, etc...are all items that are prohibitive to install later.
Infact a few mentioned to me that the front fogs are ineffective and the grill mounted driving lights are much more effective and look cooler
So I guess my opinion would be to get all factory items that you can and put the EXTRA's that you can add later on after you get it and decide what you really want on it. I know...I know I sound like my DAD..GOD!!! when did I get old!!!
Seriously dude....maybe think about what you can GET that you CAN'T go back and add later after it's built!!! maybe the S is not out of reach???
What ever you decide..you'll have a sweet ride and will have years of happy motoring.
I just got back from South Africa after two years of being over there and I am happy to report that the Mini is alive and well over there (enclosed are three thumbnails of Minis, blue MCS was mine).
I drove a Blue MCS. Standard/stick right hand drive and driving on the left just gave the Mini experience a little bit more ooomph. It's tricky transitioning both from driving on the right to the left and visa-versa (it took me a week).
I drive a black 2006 JCW now and I am looking forward to being back in the States.
Planning to replace my 2001 BMW X5 with 2009 MCS or Clubman (leaning towards Horizon Blue). Not long after purchasing a new Toyota MR2 in 2001, I saw my first MINI and felt a bit of buyers remorse. I later traded the MR2 for a used X5 when I needed more room. Now, kids grown and graduated from college, I'm finally treating myself to a MINI! Plus MINI and me both turn 50 this year!!
