Suggestions for those who has similar situation

I bought a set of Koni FSD back in December 2014 and when the box arrived i noticed 2 front McPherson (mushroom head) where the main spring seat when fully assembled is dangling and separated from the tube which i thought its not going to affect performance and never put a claim, I live in a townhouse so i'm limited to what i can do, the association are really pain in the butt, so i did finally installed several months ago and now the problem is weird noise every time there is bump and small pothole, my control arm bushing are 1 year old so that is not the case, similar sound though when i had the worn-out control bushing. Every time i turn the wheel only the tube turns not the entire spring assembly (Stock Spring).
Do i need to call Koni to get it replaced under Warranty?
Comments are Welcome

Kind Regards

The sound you are hearing is indeed the rattly spring perch. FSDs will arrive in the box with that fault every so often. We used to return them but now we just fix them as we install them. The spring perch is a press fit, and a carefully placed divot with a punch will secure the perch to the strut. You have to be careful, though, because it's a strut so you can't compromise the inner diameter of tube/dampening mechanism.

Eric,
Aloha and thank you i feel better i thought i was the only 1 experiencing it, if its common issue why are the manufacturer don't do a better job and at least tack-weld the perch in place like others competitor but then again i read it its serviceable when needed so that's the good part, as far as mine i'm just DIY and dont have all the tools to do it and garage either ill try to cal Koni to see if i can work something out.
Again nice to hear from you, Hawaii Mini group (buy) that used to do the DIY are long gone because Mini is too expensive to keep up, Minihune on the other hand still active doing SCCA not in the Mini but better car the GTR.
Mahalo

BTW: Question for Eric and off-topic
I changed my SC, belt tensioner and reused the reduction pulley 17% that you installed way back years ago also used what most people recommend for the belt NAPA 060535, 1375mm and noticed the belt tensioner indicator dont show any line or marking, i've been looking for shorter than 1375mm.

Thanks
Roy
