New Parent!

Hi there,
I am on week 4 of being a new mom to a 2011 chocolate mini. This is my first mini after a lifetime of loving friends and strangers minis! Our girl has 60K on her and I was wondering if you guys and gals can tell me what might start needing attention at this mileage? I am used to having my cars through 200K miles and hope this girl makes it as well.
I was pointed in your direction today by the dealership I bought her from!
I'm n North Florida and would love some mini friends!

Congrats on the New MINI , the Chocolate is called " Hot Chocolate " , you could get that on the exterior and interior.

Post up some pics . And did the MINI dealership give you the past service records ?

Welcome to NAM! Be sure to keep up on the regular maintenance and do frequent oil changes if you can. When issues arise, fix them right away and just continue to enjoy it. There are a lot of high mileage owners here. Recently, someone shared their 300k+ mileage! Take care of your MINI and it'll keep you smiling. Post a picture for us too when you get the chance! If you ever need anything, I'm here to help so don't hesitate to reach out. Cheers!

Thank you guys so much for the warm welcome! First issue came up. Took her in for an oil change and he said the coolant was low and asked if he should top it. I was expecting a coolant flush at this point but not a random low level. I looked and sure enough, waaaay below the low level. I scoured the site here and found what you all suggested but couldn't find it locally. When I went to advanced auto they pulled the specs and showed me what they recommend. I had a mechanic (not there at advanced auto!) flush it and put it in, all was good. Today, a week later I have a check engine light. I go get it read and it's a thermostat heater control circuit / open warning.
Frustrated.
I think I read that at this mileage a thermostat is often needing replacment? Trying to find a mini mechanic in this town has been an experience. BMW won't service them. I found someone who can look at it tomorrow though. Just wish it was
BMW or mini. What kinda cost are we looking at so I know what to expect?

Thank you again guys!!!

Where are you located in Florida? Maybe someone might be able to suggest a MINI indy shop in your area. What 2011 MINI do you have?
