1962 Mini + MR2 + Camry
Hello all,
I just signed up to see what it is like over here. I have been working on mine for a few years now and it is just about done. It started life as a 1962 Austin Mini right hand drive. The body was there and pretty much all the parts, but it had been sitting for 15-20 years so not worth saving to original condition, plus I got it knowing I would just need the body, doors, bonnet, handles, etc. I took the body and put it on a 1991 MR2 chassis that I had to cut 6" out of the wheelbase and the same for the cabin width, but the tires width is the same. Yes the little mini is wide. I mated it up all and made my own foam/fiberglass body kit to make it look good to me. I also replaced the stock 4cyl MR2 engine with a V6 and plan to put a SC on in the future. Right now it is in the 180rwhp range and weights in at 2000lbs and it feels really fast. I am painting it Caterham F1 green with a white top. I am hoping to have it all done and be driving it daily here in less than a month. I am in the Fredericksburg VA area. Hope you like it.
Here is a pic when I dropped it off for paint and some body work when in some black primer.
Thanks
Troy
