New 2013 Hardtop S

Hay guys. I'm not new to the forum. Owned a 2006 6 before. Made the mistake of trading it in for a fiat 500 abarth. I'm finally back in the mini world so I figured I would officially introduce myself and my mini. It's a pepper white just like my old one. So far I'm enjoying it very much. Why I chose to buy a fiat over another mini I will never know. Either way. It's good to be back!

The Abarth a really can't stand up to a mini in stock form. Certainly can't out handle one. Watch out for the ones with tunes though. They can get 200+hp out of one. Thanks for the welcome.

I'd cross-shopped the Beetle Turbo and Fiat 500 before choosing my MCS.

I never got the chance to drive an Abarth before making my choice, it kept getting delayed.

I stay interested in all small, interesting cars though.

Do you have a top 3-5 things that brought you back to MINI? Or, put another way, a top list of things that you didn't prefer about your Fiat?

Just curious, would be in interested in your thoughts.

Enjoy your new ride!

I made a similar move selling my 2010. Now reunited once again myself as well. Congrats! Looks sharp.

It's hard to boil it down to just a few reasons for leaving the fiat. There were a lot of things that lead to me wanting to get out of the car. The value being one of them. Because of the deep dealer discounts the cars are not worth much anymore. The seating position didn't feel natural for quite awhile and though it grew on me it was more akin to driving a tiny mini van than a hot-hatch. The car was a blast to drive but require a lot of attention to do so. It was a two hands on the steering wheel kinda drive while 70+ on the highway. It was also red. Though they look great in red, red just wasn't a fit for me long term. The Abarth was akin to a loud teenager that had something to prove. It was unrefined and made out of cheap materials on the inside. Loud and unruly. That's attractive to a lot of people and was to me at first as well but it got old. It was however a great car (with awesome wheels and breaks) and I wouldn't recommend against one. It was great but the mini was my first love. It's faster and more refined. It handles better in all but breaking power and really just feels like what I'm paying for. The Abarth when all is said and done is essential a 22k car built on an economy car platform.

I'm rambling at this point but TL;DR the mini handles better, drives faster, looks better and overall feels like a million bucks. I have love for both but love the MINI much more.
