Hi all. I just got a 2003 MINI Cooper S a couple weeks ago, with only 36000 miles on the odometer, British Racing green paintwork, manual trans, and moonroof. I've wanted one since they first showed up here in the US, and finally, I got one.
So far, I've read all 68 pages of the "things you probably didn't know about your mini" thread. Great stuff there! I look forward to finding out all the helpful maintenance tricks and useful mods.
Welcome aboard Dutch! I've spent many hours reading that "things you didn't know" thread too, while waiting for my MINI to arrive.
Lots of stuff here, and lots of great people ready to help-
Congrats!
Jay

I'm about to do my first "mod" this morning--re-routing the vacuum hose to the bypass valve. Might also take the valve out and stretch the spring a bit and readjust the stop screw to ensure it closes all the way.
I'll also be keeping an eye out for MINI events and gatherings in AZ.
Gotta get one of those Bentley repair manuals soon.
C ya,
Dutch

Well, I just got back from the post-mod test drive.
WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!
I'm going to have to adjust my clutch/throttle interaction....
Now if I could only find the thread (forgot to subscribe to it ) and thank Andy for the tip....
C ya,
Dutch
