Hi...Just bought a Mini S and.....need help!!

Please anyone!! I just bought an used mini cooper s 06 from a friend.
Last saturday, I got it out from the repair shop therefore a CV replacement and now I have a diferent problem, every time during the gear change the car kind of moves back and forth....It is difficult to keep a smooth ride no matter what I do.
Does it has to do something with the supercharger??

Torque steer while shifting a MCS is somewhat normal, if your at WOT.

Also, if this is your first experience with driving the MINI, the steering is very responsive.

But, check tire pressures and did you get an alignment with the CV work?

Have fun, congrats on getting an 06.

Thank you for your quick response. What I mean is, during gear shifting when releasing completly the clutch pedal and accelerating, sometimes the car moves back and forth....even though trying to keep the throttle steady.
This happens mostly on 2nd and 3rd gear at low speeds. I am not an expert driver but I know how to drive a manual transmission car and definitely It was not like this before the repair

Roughly what RPM are you shifting at on 2nd and 3rd? It may just be some practice is needed too. Even after a few years I sometimes still have a bad-shifting day.

Another thought is to look for something dragging the MINI back like a seizing up brake caliper, seizing parking brake cable, seizing new improperly installed CV, etc. meaning when you let off the gas something is trying to stop or slow the MINI down. You didn't pull on the parachute lever, did you? j/k.

The SC can be felt around 4K RPM if you have the stock SC pulley, more like 3K if it has a reduced SC pulley (roughly, so don't hassle me if I am off a few RPM NAM people). But there isn't any backing off feeling associated with that.

When it comes to problems it is usually helpful to find a local MINI owner to take it for a ride and give an opinion. It is very hard to assess based on thread descriptions. Another good reason to find and join a nearby MINI Owner's Club.

Enjoy the new ride!

Thanks a lot. I think you are right, the best alternative in this case is to ask for dealer's assistance and take him out for a ride. yeap tomorrow at 8 am!!!

Does it lurch forward?
Or bog down during clutch engagement?
Can your friend drive it smooth?
