Mini Sterling. I was assured I'd get the HK. If I arrive with no HK, I'll likely be reordering... unless they cut me a deal or something.

I would double check. It seems the boat isnt going to leave until 9am today (NY time). I researched the crap out of this last night and even ended listening to the dispatch radio feed over there. I sent a friend of mine some of the info I obtained, I'll post it here also (see below)

This is a link to the shipping schedule. My ship is the last column on the right (Fedora). It shows the ship will arrive in NY on Oct 1st after a brief stop in Nova Scotia. Then I have to wait for the car to get to the dealer

This is a link to the dispatch at the shipping port. I've heard every type of accent you can imagine. You'll have to let it run cause there is a lot of downtime and silence and then all of the sudden you'll hear them talk to each other.

Thanks, I can't wait till it gets here. I think your ship will be going through the Panama Canal and I think you can webcam a pic of it if you time it right.

Nice! I'm super jealous.

Looks like I'll probably be on the Aida which leaves Sept. 25th and gets to SoCal Oct. 16th. VIN info still hasn't shown up yet.

If you time it right you can snap the pic of your ship going through the canal. Looks like your ship is arrivaing and leaving on the 25th. There are going to be some very busy dock workers!

Woohoo! Confirmed on the 25th that it's leaving on the Aida. Maybe I'll get my car the same day they officially launch Windows 7 to the public (October 22nd)! Very doubtful, but I can dream

I'm sooooo confused. I just used the "new" 2010 configurator and built my car exactly as I ordered it. It appears (according to the configurator) that the Harmon Kardon sound system comes WITH the performance package! I can't wait to see how my car arrives (with or without)

This should be interesting

I just did as well, and my car is $500 cheaper. That's no small chunk of change. The DTC dropped 250 and the HK part of premium is 250 less. I'll be calling my MA tomorrow.

Please let me know what they tell you. My MA is a great guy and I'm not worried about getting screwed in any way shape or form. Besides, I used to own a Subaru dealership so I got some creds. I am intrigued how this is all going to pan out. I personally would love to have the car come in with the HK. If not I would expect some $$. Time will tell.

I ordered on 8/27, started production around 9/14....I believe sometime on 9/23 it boarded a ship ...because it says that it is en route now but when I plug in my VIN on WW's tracking site it says not found :(

I wonder where my car is!

Hello and welcome! You should check out the guide that is a sticky in the 1st gear forum (here)- it explains that WW isn't the only shipping company, but they seem to be the best tracking wise. Others don't have a lot of info, but once it gets to the states you should get an update.

Odds are you guys have the non-HK Premium Package, which went for $1250. It's the same thing I apparently had on my originally ordered car (currently aboard the Morning Caroline).

If you have your original order forms, check to see if the premium code is "ZPP" or "ZP2". If it's ZP2, you probably don't have the HK sound system.

I had ZP2, and have since canceled and re-ordered with ZPP (HK). Now scheduled for production week #41.

My 2010 Clubman is at the NY port! I watched the Fedora (via GPS) pull in yesterday about 7am. Oddly enough the Fedora sails right past Long Beach and if it wasn't the middle of the night I would have been able to see it sail by!

My MA told me they are going to hold the car at the port a while until they release the 2010's, I hope it's soon!

my 2010 order was messed up. No DTC. I may just cancel the whole thing all together. It's not worth paying the new car premium, if i'm not getting exactly what I want... and i don't feel like waiting another 5 weeks. :-(

Cancel and reorder? Or cancel and get something else? If you're discouraged about the whole Mini experience all you need is another test drive :-) I know my MA has an 09 JCW clubby (loaded) on the lot! If that doesn't bring you back, nothing will.

well a few days ago, i test drove a 1-series and clubman back to back. Now, I'm really disappointed with the mini build quality. the mini had 7k miles and had several rattles; not what I want from a $30k car. I can't imagine spending a dollar more than what I ordered... it just seems silly with the interior materials and build quality.

My MA actually has the exact car i ordered coming in with the missing option, but also has the sport package and comfort access.... but spending another $1500 is out of the question for me... even another $500 is too much.

I dunno, i really like the design of the car, but am having serious doubts about the build quality and materials used... and what else i could get for 30k.

well i currently drive a 1990 bmw 325IS. The 1-series is the logical succesor to the e30. The car was not as well equipped as the mini i ordered, but the dealer offered me 2k off with no haggeling. The price is just about the same as the clubman i ordered.

The interior could be called boring compared to the mini, but the materials were a lot nicer. If i push on the mini dash, it makes a cheap plasticy *creaking* sound; the bmw does not. The bmw sport seats were also much more comfortable, and interior leg room both back and front was about the same as the clubman. The 1 series has a bigger trunk than the clubman's hatch... but hatches tend to be more useful. The engines are completly different, linear I6 vs. low end tqy turbo 4... and rwd vs. fwd.

after test driving both cars, I came away with... "I don't know" which to me, means I should wait.

I can see why you are at an impasse'

Maybe as you said you should sit tight. As long as you are in no rush to get a car time is on your side. Perhaps things will clear up after Mini does a redesign for 2011?

Has your car been unloaded yet? Mine just done at NY and is headed to Panama.
