Nice!!! I think I wrote this before - I originally planned on buying a MINI like yours - Horizon Blue with a White top. It is amazing how good all the cars our group ordered look - there isn't a single one that I couldn't be happy with (but, I'm still glad I got Nightfire Red).

That's too funny, because I was originally going to get the Nightfire Red until I saw the Horizon Blue. I am fated to have blue cars I think! My previous car was blue, but not as pretty as this one.

I have to say, one of my favorite things lately...having other MINI owners wave and smile as they drive by. It's like being part of a big family

Bert has gotten several compliments since arriving in our small town. Hopefully he won't get a big head over it LOL

Oooh, I like Bert! Looks like you had a nice drive Sunday afternoon. We have so much to show our new cars! And, you have a lot of great back roads around Puget Sound to teach Bert all the finer points in life.

Please upload your photos into your NAM gallery so I can include the link to them in the Week 34 list.

I have some interesting news. Lynn ordered her 2010 on Sunday, 9/27. I told her to call Ask Mini today just for the fun of it. They told her the car went into production yesterday--the next day after ordering it. The car has an estimated completion date of 10/5. It should make the Port Hueneme ship on 10/9.

After Lynn ordered the car on Sunday, 9/27, I quickly checked the ship schedule. I knew the car had to start production this Wednesday at the latest if it had any chance of getting on the ship next Friday, 10/9.

Tracking the car this time around is so much easier. I knows what to expect.

Wow! That is fantastic news. If ever there was justice in this world, you are seeing it right now. If all goes well, Lynn ought to be driving her MINI by November 3rd or 4th.

Like you said, tracking her car will be so much easier this time. Please keep us posted!

So she didn't get the Mini she ordered at Monrovia? Did she get her deposit back?

In a word, "nope." Go back and read post numbers 913 and 917 (on page 23 of this thread).

I just read through that.. (it was page 37 BTW, but you are forgiven )

I would fight to get the deposit back. I ordered my MINI from Crevier (in Santa Ana, about 40 miles Monrovia Mini) and they told me my deposit is 100% refundable. I even have it in writing. I assumed all dealers in SoCal did this Why should the dealer get $500 in pure profit for providing horrible customer service?

So I got home last night and there was a package on my doorstep. I wasn't expecting anything, so I was a bit curious. I open it up, there is a card from my MA and a Mug with chocolate in it. The mug has the MINI logo etched into the side, and my name etched in underneath it!

This type of stuff make me so excited! I have never bought anything before and gotten goodies like that for just being a customer! Good job my MINI dealer!

So glad to hear she really didn't give up on experiencing MINItopia, the feeling you get when you sit behind the wheel of your MINI and motor.

Interesting - on my computer, the current page is number 25. Maybe it is because you're using a PC and I'm using a Mac?

You are one of a handful of lucky people who had an unveiling of their Mini. I made a thread a while back and asked how many people had an unveiling. Not that many people got to experience what you experienced.

k3v1n
Lynn is trying to get her deposit back. It is no big deal to her if she doesn't get her money back. She has moved on and is looking forward to her 2010 Clubman.

Bannanstand
That was really nice of your MA to give you a gift. I wish I could have been there to see you smile when you opened it.

ZugginAround
Lynn has put the bad experience behind her and is looking forward to the 2010 Mini. She doesn't know much about cars, but she is very passionate about her cars and takes good care of them.

OK sorry it took so long. Have had either crazy kids, rain, or darkness. I still need to take more but here's one I was able to squeeze off.

Looking good! I love that color. Did you purposely offset your add-on lights?

Yes for like, street legality reasons. As in they don't shine directly straight and blind anyone who may be coming the other way by accident.

I've thought about straightening them but worry about my fellow motorers too much.

I am so in love with the color.
