Early Arrival for the New Year

I was expecting my 2008 MCS sometime in late January (according to the initial dealer estimate) and to my surprise it arrived early! So much for the tracking process... I guess my mini snuck aboard a K-line ship while I was was looking for the VIN to pop up on the WW site and then sped through the VDC and hopped onto a westbound transport. Nothing like good surprises!

I picked up the car last Friday just in time for the massive early snow melt here in southern Iowa (1+ foot of snow melted in two days). Which left me with some very messy roads. Argghh! First dirt!

So far everything is great! Well, except for one small thing... A guy at work (while trying to be careful getting in the car) brushed his muddy boot against the lower part of the metal door ring. Any ideas on how to take a small scuff out of that metal ring?

I had the same "late January/early February" estimate originally, and picked up my MINI last night. The wait still seemed like forever.

Sorry, I don't have a clue about your scuff question. Though I'm also focused on every new fingerprint and particle of dust.

Congrats on getting your MINI early - Yayyy for you... You might want to check out one of the detailing threads or do a search on here and see what comes up...
