Soon to be Sidewalkin'

I've been posting on the local Tarheels (North Carolina) MINI site, but figured I'd pop on here as well.

I have a new Sidewalk version, JCW, loaded out badboy in production currently and I'm trying not to pull my hair out while I wait for it to arrive (not to worry, I shave my head).

Here's my "artist rendition" with all the options photoshopped in except the chrome mirrors (a bit trickier to fake in PS )

I'm coming from a BMW Z4 3.0, which I loved a great deal but I really want 4 seats for the next convertible and the MINI was by FAR the most fun I had trying out different rides, regardless of price. I test drove an Audi S4 with near 400 HP right after the MINI S (not even the JCW) and got out of the Audi thinking "yeah, get me in the MINI, no question".

I'm a video game nut (Lead Level Designer on Gears of War) so I think my plate will read "KOOPA", the little turtle guys Mario jumps on.

Anyway, glad to be here, lots of great info to go around!

More or less the package that says "gimme a bunch of other packages", haha. It's also got the brown leather seats, different wheels, and some other goodies.

Yah, I'm excited. Anyone know how long it takes to go from "on order" to being in production?

Meg, I just took an existing cabrio cartoon into photoshop and color shifted it around, then copied the wheels over and added the stripes. For fun I just changed the eyes a bit.

I can send you one without the stripes if you want?

I think that's the first time I truly saw a MINI of any kind (even the first time I saw my own) and had a jaw-dropping "WOWWWWW" reaction.

Really beautiful!

Wow, thanks for the kind words there! That's really nice to hear!

The debate in my head now is if I should extend the stripes down the back or perhaps slash a pair across the back diagonally over the rear wheels... just seems odd to have strips only on the hood... Dunno. I guess when it gets here I'll photoshop it up and see how it looks.

I have boot stripes as well as bonnet stripes. I felt like it looked half-nekkid with only the bonnet stripes

BUT some people think boot stripes look weird. To each their own!

WagnBat, haha, if we do a UT3 beta I'll letcha know. Your pic with the side stripes is what made me think about getting them on mine, I love the ones near the wheels.

For anyone with rear stipes, does someone sell those to match the hood ones? I have vinyl experience and a guy for materials, but if someone already sells those matching the fronts it'd be easier.

Yeah, there are a few vendors. Mike at Aesthetic Creations (aestheticreations.net) did mine. Good quality and I installed them myself in under an hour.
