New guy from the bay area

Hey guys my name is steve(obviously) and I live in the north bay. I just sold my modded evo 8 and picked up a 02 mini cooper s. Basicly I was looking for a well built track capable economy car and the mini is far better then your average honda civic, ect. So far I feel like the money was well spent since I got suh a good deal on it but since Im coming from a modded evo the mini feels like a 3cyl geo metro so its deffanetly going to need a bit more power to keep me from getting bored. Im thinking that Im going to do a 17% pulley, invidia exhaust and Im not sure yet on the computer. After that A W7 in the trunk and somenew speakers.

Yeah, I hate owning anything stock. The evo got very overwelming though cause you can get so much power with every little thing you do. My hopes is to keep the mini to a minimal. After a pully and exhaust its on to audio stuff, I really want to fit a 12" jl W7 in it.

The evo was about 300awhp on a very low reading mustang dyno. Never got to run it but considering they do very low 13's with 200-210awhp stock it should have been easily in the low 12's on pump gas which isnt very fast in the evo community but its still pretty dam fast for a street car on 91 pump.

Welcome to the clan ssteve. Why don't you come out to the Jackson Rancheria run on May 19 with Norcal MINIs? or this Sunday on the Marin Headlands run with REME? I'm sure there will be tons of people with great advice on how to "speed pimp" your new ride, and you can have a blast at the same time. Hope to see you there!

The problem with the evo was the payment, the mpg, the insurance and the fact that if you drive it at even 70% of what its capable of your breaking the law very drasticly. All that combined with the fact that I am trying to eventually get into law inforcement within the next couple years, and I really cant afford to get a fat ticket.

You think the evo could get you tickets. Do a couple of mods, and get out your check book, and the smile off your face.
