BBQ at the Summitt! BBQ at MITM!

Yes, the OFFICIAL Colorado State BBQ Contest (as proclaimed by the Guv himself) is being held on Friday and Saturday, August 11 and 12 in Dillon, CO. Those of you attending MITM know that Dillon / Silverthorne are the pair of towns just 10 mi East of Copper Mtn Resort on I-70. Many of your rides go thru this area, including the Steamboat Loop, Rocky Mtn National Park, Mt. Evans loop, Independence Pass, Tour of the Ski Resorts, and more.

Well, so that all of you can have a chance to enjoy a good lunch either on Friday or Saturday, we thought we would bring you the details:
  • Friday and Saturday in Downtown Dillon, CO (overlooking the lake)
  • Right on Main St. Can't miss it.
  • Farmers Market, 9-1 Friday
  • Food and Beverage Sales, Noon to 10 pm Friday (Buck-a-Bone tickets)
  • Music on the Stage
  • Food and Beverage Sales, 10 - 7 pm Saturday (Buck-a-Bone tickets)
  • 11 am - Side Dish Judging
  • 11:30 am - Chicken Judging
  • Noon - Rib Judging
  • 12:30 - Pork Judging
  • 1:00 - Brisket Judging
  • 1:30 Miscellaneous Judging
  • 2:00 - Dessert Judging
  • 3:30 - Awards Ceremony
  • 4:00 on - Musics, Nostalgia, Rock and Roll on the Main Stage
Come on out and see some of the best BBQ Colorado has to offer! Never mind that most of the teams are from out-of-state. Whom you might ask? Well, those BBQ heads among you (like me) might recognize names such as:
  • Back Draft BBQ, Denver, CO. Won 3 World Championships in Memphis
  • Oink County Cookers, Mesa, AZ. Won the 2004 AZ State Champ.
  • Pink Flamingo BBQ, Ft. Smith, AK. Won 3 Grand Championships in 2005 alone, you saw them on OLN TV (All Star BBQ Showdown, now showing) and they finished 5th at the American Royal in KC, the big daddy.
  • Tom & Josh's Orgasmic Slabs - KC, MO. Winner, Sunflower State Cookoff in KC, Ks.
  • and more!
Come on out for this KCBS Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event. Enjoy the bones!
