Whalen Shift Machine at MITM! New Pictures!!

Doug Whalen of Whalen Shift Machine (www.whalenshiftmachine.com) will be joining us at MITM and to deliver and show off some of his custom shift machines (the world's best shifters!!) for our attendees.

Doug will be taking orders for the Shift Machine right here in this forum, and he will deliver at MITM. You can find out more about the Whalen Shift Machine at the site above, or by contacting Doug here.

Further, MITM hosts have a VERY SPECIAL Whalen Shift Machine available to one lucky attendee...who will win it at the Saturday Night Vendors dinner. Will it be you?

Here is what some very satisified customers have said about their Shift Machines:

'After receiving my knob today I can't believe I waited so long to order one! The quality of this knob goes far beyond what BMW and any of the aftermarket makers out there.' - Joe C.

'I am pleased to report nothing but good about your shift knob. It is visually exciting and adds just the right amount of shine. It attracts the eye and it is the centerpiece of the interior as it deserves to be.' - Allen L.

'I just got back from a test drive with my new Whalen Shift Knob. I would not have believed that swapping the shift knob could make such a dramatic improvement in shifting. Great look and feel!' - TommyZ3

See you all at MITM!

Jonathan

Doug donated a shifter with a MINIs On Top logo which was one of the prizes at this years MOT...AND I WON IT!

I'm still very excited, the shift machine is sensational.

It is a great prize and it sounds like if you don't win it, you can still get one, cool.

You know, Doug at Whalen Shift Machine has been so easy

to work with it is amazing. He just said to let him know what we wanted, he would do a custom if we could provide graphic file, that he would take pre-orders, take some to sell, and help install.

Heck, what more could you ask for?

Yes, I plan to attend my FIRST EVER car gathering, this year at MITM.
Should be a lot of fun!

Unfortunately, I don't own a MINI (yet!); but maybe I can sneak under the radar screen with my wife's MINI(VAN).
(Or perhaps, I may bring something that's more suitable for the twisty mountain roads; we'll see...)

I'm happy to offer a 10% discount on any orders placed for delivery at MITM, as well as all orders taken at the event.

Of course, I'll bring along a good supply of knobs with "generic" engraving designs; but for custom designs with MITM delivery, I recommend having your order in by Aug 5th or 6th.

Thanks again to all of my past customers; I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in Colorado!!

Doug, I like the look and functionality of the shift machine, but living in Las Vegas, I can't do a metal shift knob. Do you have any options that will stay cooler? I currently have a CF knob that doesn't get too hot to touch.
If I was getting a custom knob, I guess I'd like the SCMC DevilMINI on it.

Only other option that I have at this point are knobs made from billiard balls.

For billiard balls, does the cream/number go all the way through? What I'm asking is, if you engrave a design into a pool ball, where the number is, does the number still show at the bottom of the engraving?

That Minnie Mouse one looks interesting...is that a decal of some kind applied to the ball? How durable is something like that?

Yes, the color goes completely through the ball; at least, on the balls that I buy, it does.

That Minnie ball was supplied by the customer. I don't know whether that was a decal or not.

I've felt your pain before, so I picked up a shift knob cover from Out Motoring (I think). It's a semi -thick dark gray flannel material w/ the MINI or S logo on it & I find it works great for both HOT & cold days .

Yeah, but that defeats the purpose of having an ultra-cool custom engraved, unique shift knob. And nobody wants a beaten up dolphin (defeated porpoise).

Can you get a solid black, grey or silver ball?

Don't be silly, you only cover it when you are parked for any long period of time, not like somethings, you would definitely want to unwrap this rascal

Yumhaggis, in the 120 degree days in a Vegas summer, you can't touch metal that has been inside the car for quite some time after getting in the car. I have a 3 mile commute. I can't do a metal shift knob. I got the CF one I have now because the chrome ring on the stock was searing a ring of scar tissue into my palm.

I appreciate what you're saying. Back in the 70s, I spent three years at Nellis AFB, so I know what you're saying. Back in those days I was sporting around in an AH Sprite. The air was so hot and dry, you would have to cover your face with a bandanna to keep from sucking the air out of your lungs.

Agro,

I live in San Antonio. Often hotter that 100F. I actually take my knob off and take it into work with me. Takes two seconds. Totally worth it. I could never go to a knob with less mass than this...it just feels too good.

I'm thinking of getting the #4 billiard ball (purple)...but I don't see it on your webpage. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Also...does getting a pool ball vs the silver ones defeat the "feel" everyone talks about?

Thanks!
Lynn

Doug, your Shift Machines

arrived in yesterday's mail. They are so much better in the hand than in the pictures, and I thought the pictures were nice.

The MITM Commemorative Shift Machine that you have kindly donated to be given away will be kept safe until that time. Please join me on the dais for that particular gift.

The one I ordered is here.....let me know how you want payment.

Folks, if you act now, Doug still has time to make your MITM Shift Machine before the event. He can personally deliver and then help install the device right on site.

Order now - - get YOUR shift machine first!!

JPS

Jon is 100% correct. Those shift machines look amazing in person. The one he made for the Swap last year blew people away when they saw it in person.

If you are on the fence consider yourself pushed over. Call Doug and order yours today!
