Yes, I've been doing this for the past five years on MINI #1 and #2. I've tried to find car washes w/ no "no hand washing" signs posted...suprisingly I've found several. In any case, I use rinse only...the first cycle to wet down the car and fill my bucket (which has shampoo in it). They I use the mitt on bodywork and a mf cloth on wheels. Then a second rinse cycle to rinse car, bucket, grit guard, and the rest. Finally, it's off to dry. Once you get in the rhythm of it it is quite do-able. Seems finding a facility that does not prohibit hand washing might be the tricky part.
