Removing strong adhesive...

It's a long story that I'd rather not get in to, but I wound up with some strong adhesive (glue type adhesive) on my bumper.

I tried goo gone and some other less harsh adhesive removers, but it's not nearly doing what I need it to. I obviously want to make sure not to take off paint if possible, but really need to clear this up. It's annoying me night and day.

I know this post makes me sound oblivious This is why I get all of my mods done professionally...I suck at anything automotive for some reason (wasn't born with the gene?)

My friend owns a detailing company and said that they could probably get it off, but I'd rather do it myself if possible.

Any suggestions?
