Seat Wear

The drivers side seat bolster in my 2005 is showing some wear; the leading edge of the seat back that gets rubbed when you get into and out of the car. What has anyone done to fix those scratches and wear marks? Besides looking shabby, I don't want a hole in the seats. Anyone know how to avoid the scratches? Is there a trick to getting in the car in tight places with out dragging your butt across the seat bolster?
