OG can verify this but... I don't believe the paint will be damaged in any way, as long as you don't try to remove the ice. Let nature take care of it and you'll be fine. Just scrape the windows.
If you can't get into the doors because they're frozen shut, a little cool water or lukewarm water (not hot, you don't want to break the glass) down the door seams will do the trick.
I know what it's like to not have a garage... so I can relate to your situation (although I can't relate to having a beloved MINI and no garage).
