Try positioning yourself with the camera below the badge so your reflection isn't in it. Another trick is to take a piece of foam board, cut a hole in the middle that the lens will fit through and shoot; the reflection of the white board is non-descript and the lens hole will be virtually invisible. Using a tripod and remote or timer is best IMHO, but you still have to shoot from an angle (below, left or right) so the camera isn't in the reflection. The nice thing about digital is that you can see right away what works and what doesn't. Good luck, and post your results!!!
