MINI weekend drive & pics

Well, I finally took the MINI on a road trip. 2 days and 1 night, but it's still a road gig! (headbang) My Girlfriend and I left Denver at 5 am, stopping only to grab breakfast burritos, authentic and respectable 24 hour joint of course. We drove west to Grand Junction, then south towards Gateway and eventually we camped just outside the Paradox Valley on BLM land (free!), right near the Utah/Co border. Whew, it's hot there this time of year. I suggest going in March/April. Anyway, we had a great spot and, the next day, we drove into Utah and thru Moab into Arches Nat'l Park for a quick spin. I've been to a lot of the parks over there a lot, so we just hit the highlights before returning back to the highway and eventually back to Denver. It was a blur mostly, but I did manage to get a few good shots which I would like to share with everyone (and because I missed the deadline for the monthy contest! :impatient which is not so bad considering the surrounding circumstances... Ha.) Enjoy, and please comment if u wish! -Steve

In Denver, previous weekend, wall painting. "Whachu loogin at?!?!?"

In Gateway, at the Paradox Cafe (super food, great old cars)

In Gateway, The Palasade rock, sandstone cliffs, triassic/jurassic age

On hwy 141 south of Gateway, my favorite shot of the trip (calendar entry!)

On 141, further South, against the wall of Jurassic Entrada Slickrock Sandstone.

Me giving you what you need after a long hot drive. AAaahhh.... Cerveza goodness.

Have a great summer and... take drive, will you?!?!?!

-Steve
